In 2003, after more than 20 years of experience in Boyacá’s energy sector and six years of electrical engineering training in Russia, our founder made a defining decision: to create a company capable of building world-class energy infrastructure for Colombia and the region. It wasn’t impulse—it was the result of decades understanding real grid needs, mastering advanced engineering practices, and believing Latin America deserved projects executed with technical rigor, social commitment, and operational excellence

The early years: building trust, one substation at a time

ATI started by doing what it does best: engineering and delivering medium- and high-voltage substations. Our first client was a utility company in Boyacá, where we knew first-hand the technical, operational, and human realities of Colombia’s power sector.

That first project became a benchmark for how we work: strict standards, on-time delivery, and reliable infrastructure built for long-term operation. Over time—project after project—ATI earned trust and built a team culture rooted in commitment, excellence, and shared purpose.

Many of the people who joined ATI in 2003 are still part of the company today—more than 20 years later. They’ve witnessed our evolution from the first substations to utility-scale solar parks.
